Jaymi is an emerging young abstract artist who has ASD.
She enjoys creating her own unique art that also helps her self regulate from ongoing challenges.

Jaymi Rowarth is 17 years old, who’s always been very creative. She finds great freedom and calmness in expressing through abstract art.
Living with ASD can be challenging, but through the practice of visual creativity, it has been a therapeutic relief for her. With colours and shapes, Jaymi is able to channel complicated emotions and thoughts, whilst enjoying the calming state it brings.

In the recent years Jaymi attended art classes and learnt the craft of alcohol ink painting. She spent many hours practicing and sharpening her skills.
Jaymi would either start with a vision inspired by nature or at times she would be drawn to a colour. From there she would work intuitively and allowed herself to become open to how the painting would unfold. She loves the process and gets lost in the creation. For a moment it would become her world.

After improving and painting countless works, naturally her artistic designs drew attention. It has given Jaymi confidence and self esteem within herself. It has also been a way to connect with other people, which has given her great delight, as it can be tough as a teenager living with ASD.

Jaymi’s artwork reflects who she is when she is simply being and flowing in that moment. There is so much beauty in her expression that her colourful art uplifts any room with joy.
